MadMax has raised the level of competition for speed run and drag racing tires with the release of the Speed Blister tires. These pre-mounted tires are made with a single piece of foam rubber. These are glued to the wheels that have a 24mm hex made to fit popular 1/5 models.
These tires are 190mm tall. The foam strip is about 80mm across, 83mm wide including the wheels that protrude a small amount. MadMax has tested these wheels and tires and have seen speeds as high as 135 miles per hour.
Among the numerous benefits would be lighter weight wheel and tire assemblies. The foam tires offer incredible amounts of grip. The foam rubber features about 25mm worth of foam rubber that offers a lot of life. The foam tires resist ballooning which is so common among the speed runs which add to the stability.
