ESP CHAMP PORT GP460 CYLINDER REED HEAD KIT
This version of the reed ported top end is best for top end power, and maximum revs. For low end torque/midrange, part CC586 is the best choice.
New for the spring of 2023, this ESP GP460 cylinder reed top end kit is made for racing on closed race courses with out sacrificing reliability of the mid range monster of the ESP “race ported” cylinder reed top end kit. This Champ Ported kit is softer in the lower RPM’s than that of the Race Ported kit, (which is much more than stock), but makes more power from the mid range to a higher revving peak rpm. This kit builds the most powerful engine ESP had sold to date.
The kit is tested with the stock carburetor with excellent results, and for best performance, the stock cases can be modified for better transfer flow by cutting the reed port tunnel in the cases (match the reed cut cylinder base gasket, and cut on an angle to not hit the case bolt/dowel.), and filing the case “transfer bows” with epoxy at a 45 degree angle to help stuff the cases. It will run really good with out the case mods, but better with them. I can can tell you instructions over the phone, or cando the work for you on an individual basis, and CNC mill the tunnel extension into the cases if you need them done.
ESP recommends the Slitzell cylinder reed block, (from DDM), for best performance.
